Mytton Oak Road crash: Girl 'seriously injured' in Shrewsbury smash

A girl has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a Range Rover crashed outside a home.

The crash happened on Mytton Oak Road, in Shrewsbury, shortly after 4pm.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said they had attended.

A girl was taken to nearby Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for treatment on what were described as "serious injuries".

The grey Range Rover had come to rest on the remains of a lamp post.

A resident said the vehicle appeared to have hit a garden wall before knocking over a telegraph pole and the lamp post.

Police have closed off the road in both directions from the roundabout to Oakfield Road.

West Mercia Police alerted motorists in the area to the closure.
