World famous display team targets rally
They are known for their daring displays and on Sunday the Red Arrows will be wowing the crowds at the County of Salop Steam Rally.
The daredevil world famous aerial display team will be performing their acrobatic feats high in the sky above Onslow Park, near Shrewsbury at approximately 3.04pm.
Organisers of the rally, are delighted with the news that the world-famous display team will perform a flypast.
Edward Goddard, chairman of the rally said: “We are really excited and very pleased that one of the world’s premier aerobatic teams, the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, The Red Arrows, will be performing a flypast at this year’s rally to delight our visitors.
"We welcome people to come along and amazing sight with a dramatic smoke display, as the Red Arrows fly in a 'V format' of nine planes.
"This is of course, subject to the usual proviso of weather permitting - but great news. This year will be the 53rd display season for the Red Arrows in which they will continue to enthrall, captivate and inspire millions of people both in the UK and around the world with a series of displays and flypasts at a wide variety of events, and we are absolutely delighted to have been advised that they will be coming to add to the spectacle at our family-fun event."
The two day steam rally will be held on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. Thousands of visitors are expected at the event which has more than 1,000 exhibits ranging from vintage prams to huge steam wagons. There will also be a working field with tractors, horse drawn ploughs, lorries, cars and bikes as well as craft tents and food outlets.
