Police appeal after Shrewsbury crash driver airlifted to hospital

Police are appealing for witnesses after a crash in Shrewsbury left a man with a broken leg and dislocated hip.

A grey Peugeot 206 was driving towards Shrewsbury near the junction of the A49 and the B5062 on Monday about 2pm when it was involved in a crash with a silver Toyota Hilux which was travelling in the opposite direction towards Haughmond.

The driver of the Peugeot, a man in his 60s, was cut free from his vehicle by the fire service and airlifted to Royal Stoke University Hospital via air ambulance with suspected leg and pelvic fractures.

The driver of the Toyota, a man in his 40s, was uninjured.
