Paul Morris, from Shrewsbury, planned to run the London Marathon with a group of friends to raise funds for Severn Hospice.

The father-of-four had terminal cancer and died on Saturday morning, but the 36-year-old's friends and family have vowed to continue fundraising in his memory.

More than £7,100 has been raised so far through a Virgin Money Giving page, and #TeamMoz hope to hit £10,000.

His wife Laura said Mr Morris had tickets for the game against Lincoln City on Sunday but that she will be going in his place now.

'Shrewsbury Town have got to win now '

She said: "Paul had tickets and was meant to be going with his dad, so now I'm going in his place.

"Shrewsbury Town have got to win now because Paul wanted them to win - they've got no choice.

"Paul was a Sheffield Wednesday fan but he also supported his home team.

"If people want to bid on the shirt they can visit our Facebook page London Marathon 2018 #TeamMoz and comment on the auction post on there.

"It's already at £250 but we're hoping it will raise even more.

"The fundraising is keeping us all busy at the moment, especially Paul's friends as it's giving them all something to do and to focus on."
