Shrews' Wembley countdown: Lin’s blooming excited ahead of cup final
Florist Lin Tisdale is getting the blue and amber blooms out ahead of the big weekend at Wembley.
Lin, who has run Lin’s Flowers in Shrewsbury’s Market Hall for 27 years, is creating special bouquets to mark Salop’s Checkatrade Cup Final against Lincoln City.
She said her husband Robert is a big Town fan and used to go to every game in his younger days – but now the pair will be watching the game on the TV and supporting the players in spirit.
Lin said: “My husband used to go to every match, both home and away, but now he’s a bit older we tend to watch it on the TV.
"Quite a few of the business owners here are going along on Sunday, from butchers to the chap who comes to collect the rent, it’s being talked about quite a lot at the moment. I imagine it’s going to be in every conversation in the Market Hall.”
She added: “It’s great to get Shrewsbury’s name out there and hopefully this will see more people visiting the town as it’s such a lovely place anyway.”
Town will have the backing of more than 11,000 fans as they bid to pick up silverware at the Checkatrade Trophy final at Wembley. They are currently second in League One, one point behind leaders Blackburn Rovers and ahead of Wigan Athletic, who have two games in hand.
