Ken Mulhearn: Shrewsbury Town legend's funeral today

Shrewsbury Town fans were today bidding a final farewell to one of the club's legends.

The funeral of goalkeeper Ken Mulhearn was taking place this morning at St Chad's Church, Shrewsbury.

Mr Mulhearn died last month at the age of 72.

The Liverpool-born shot-stopper joined Shrewsbury Town from Manchester City in March 1971.

He made 370 league appearances for the club and 432 appearances in all competitions.

Mr Mulhearn continued to live locally and until very recently he worked alongside the club's commercial and hospitality teams on match days.

Mr Mulhearn's funeral was set to take place at 11am.

Ahead of the funeral Mr Mulhearn's family requested that instead of flowers, donations are made to Parkinson's UK.
