Spandau Ballet star to play county venue
Eighties heartthrob Martin Kemp, who made the transition from stage to screen - appearing in Eastenders for four years - will appear at a Shrewsbury nightspot later this year.
Appealing to fans of both Spandau Ballet and BBC1s flagship soap, Kemp will be on stage at The Buttermarket on December 7.
He has enjoyed a hugely successful career – and this December will see him head to the music venue to get people dancing to his favourite tracks and tunes from the 1980s.
The 56-year-old star will be heading behind the decks to spin all the best hits from his favourite musical decade.
The Buttermarket’s group operations director, Grant Lees said they were thrilled to have arranged for Kemp to DJ at the venue.
He said: “Obviously Martin is a huge name of the 80s as part of Spandau Ballet, a group that had so many well known hits, so we’re delighted that he’ll be visiting Shrewsbury for one big 80s party for the town.”
Tickets are now on sale for the event and are available from seetickets.com or thebuttermarket.co.uk.
