According to the Sunday Times Rich List, the winner would receive more than the combined fortunes of One Direction's Harry Styles and Harry Potter star Emma Watson, both thought to have about £50 million each.

Their fortune would also potentially exceed that of the £110 million belonging to golfer Rory McIlroy, who is set to star in next week's Ryder Cup.

To gauge how the people of Shropshire would spend the money if they won, lottery organisers stopped the people of Shrewsbury to ask them what they would do.

"If I was to win over £100 million, I would make sure all my family had something, and I'd get all my friends, we'd all go on holiday and I'd just see everybody right with it," said Sarah Jones.

Hannah McTiernan said: "Probably the first year, I'd love to go and travel the world to see everything I would love to see, but ultimately I would love to invest it in a business of my own because I love horses, I've had horses all my life and I would love to have my own livery yard and a riding school and invest in myself and my education," said another.

Sue Wood added: "I'd like to treat my husband to a dream holiday, and buy our two sons their dream homes, and buy a nice bungalow with a swimming pool."

The winner would easily be able to afford the £32.5 million asking price for the 3,583-acre Patshull Estate between Albrighton and Pattingham, and still have £47.1 million to buy Spectablis Island in the Bahamas.

A number of people from Shropshire have scooped big prized in the National Lottery, including Sue and James Schofield from Oswestry, and John and Jackie Potter, who both won £1 million.

The biggest all-time UK lottery winners were Colin and Chris Weir from Largs in North Ayrshire, who won £161 million on Euromillions in 2011.
