Darts benefit match for amputee barman
A Shrewsbury pub holds a benefit darts tournament in aid of a long-serving member of bar staff who had had to have a leg amputated.
The event, at the Albion Vaults on Tuesday next week, will raise money for David Jenks affectionately known to regulars at Jenka.
Jenka lost his right leg after being diagnosed with a blood clot.
Landlord Chris Jones said: "Jenka has worked at the Albion for 25 years or so, on and off, and is very well known and liked in this town.
"We are raising funds for the things he will need now he has to adapt to live without the leg."
The event starts at 4pm, with the first round of darts taking place before 8pm.
Prizes include a litre of spirits and an 'all you can drink' tour of the St Anne's Brewery at Lea Cross.
