Multi-vehicle crash closes A5 at Shrewsbury
A stretch of the A5 was closed in Shrewsbury after a serious multi-vehicle crash.
The trunk road was shut in both directions at Dobbies Roundabout for more than two hours on Thursday.
Police, paramedics and firefighters were all sent to the scene in Bayston Hill after the crash happened at about 6pm.
The extent of any injuries is not yet known.
An LPG vehicle involved in the crash led to fears over leaking gas and a specialist hazardous materials vehicle was sent by the fire service.
Northbound drivers were allowed past the scene for a short period after the incident, before the route was shut in both directions from 7.45pm until 10pm.
As a result motorists heading towards Telford on the A5 were diverted from the A488 to Meole Brace via the B4380.
