Over 100 guests enjoyed a three-course traditional Christmas lunch and coffee at the Darwin Community Centre in Frankwell in aid of the Mayor’s Charity Fund.

Councillor Nutting said: “We had a great Christmas lunch and I would like to thank everyone who came along to help me support my mayoral charity, Little Rascals Foundation. I would also like to thank all the local businesses and individuals who generously provided prizes for the raffle and auction.

“I would also like to thank Oak Apple Catering for providing an excellent meal for us.

“I know that everyone enjoyed the event and we certainly saw people getting into the spirit of the season by wearing their Christmas jumpers for an added bit of festive fun.”

During his mayoral year Councillor Nutting is supporting Little Rascals Foundation based in Monkmoor, a local charity helping to make life easier for children with disabilities. The foundation also supports children and their families to ensure they get the help they need to enhance their lives and increase their independence.

Ben Wootton, director of the Little Rascals Foundation, added: “We are delighted that the mayor of Shrewsbury is supporting our charity this year, and these fundraising events help to raise both the profile of the foundation as well as much needed funds to make life easier for children with disabilities here in Shrewsbury.”
