Jolly Shrewsbury postie turns into Santa
Postie Gareth Edwards is putting a smile on faces on the streets of Shrewsbury as he does his rounds.
For the ‘Jolly Postman’ is dressing as Santa being carried by one of his elves to raise money for Hope House Hospice.
The 48-year-old has been delivering to Shrewsbury town centre for the past three years and in the run up to Christmas has always worn a festive jumper.
This year he has gone one step further for charity.
“I wanted to wear the fancy dress and it was suggested I make a collection for a good cause and the children’s hospice seemed the best choice,” he said.
“I also have a suit with Santa and a reindeer which I will be putting on over the next few days,” he said.
“If I can make people laugh or smile while I go round on the post and help the hospice at the same time then I have maybe helped some people have a happy Christmas.”
