Car ends up in garden after crash in Shrewsbury

A man was treated by paramedics after the car he was driving collided with a lamp post and ended up in the front garden of a property in Shrewsbury.

Four fire crews, police and West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) were called to the crash in Belvidere Road at about 6.25pm yesterday.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said a vehicle left the road and came to rest in the front garden of a property.

The driver of the car, described as an elderly man, was treated at the scene.

A spokesman for WMAS said: "We were called at 6.22pm to reports that a car had crashed into a lamp post, a hedge and damaged parked cars.

"One man, the driver of the car, was treated at the scene and discharged into the care of the police."
