Man seriously injured in crash with tractor near Shrewsbury
A man was seriously injured when his car collided with a tractor on a quiet country lane near Shrewsbury today.
He was airlifted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital following the accident, which took place at just before 8am on the lane close to Betton Abbots.
Fire crews cut him free from his car before he was taken to hospital by the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford for emergency treatment.
It is not thought his injuries are life threatening.
Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called at 7.51am to reports of a car versus a tractor. We send one ambulance and a paramedic officer and the Air Ambulance from Cosford.
"One patient, a man, was trapped and was cut free from the vehicle. He was treated for serious injuries which are not believed to have been life threatening. He was airlifted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital."
