More than £1,000 raised at the supermarket in Battlefield over two days.

Community champion Rachel Benson said: "We had an amazing couple of days at Tesco Turns Pink. Our colleagues all wore pink and we had lots of fun raising money and sharing information about Race for Life.

"This year men and children can enter to and we currently have a team of 18 and growing who will take part."

The 5k event takes place at Shrewsbury's Quarry on June 23 at 11am.

Sarah Pickersgill, head of events Marketing for Cancer Research UK, added: “We are very grateful for the support of the Tesco team in Shrewsbury. By joining the Race for Life, everyone can make a real difference to people with cancer.

“Race for Life events are fun, colourful and uplifting. Taking part in the events enables like-minded people to get together and remember loved ones lost to cancer or celebrate the lives of those who have survived.”
