Road closed and elderly woman taken to hospital following Shrewsbury crash
An elderly lady was taken to hospital this morning following a crash in Shrewsbury which closed the road.
Emergency services were called to Copthorne Road shortly before 11.30am to reports of a crash which involved two cars - one of which was parked.
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances and treated an elderly lady.
A spokesman said she was given treatment at the scene and taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for potentially serious injuries given her age.
A full road closure was put in place.
