Shrewsbury conifer tree fire believed to be arson
A fire in a tree outside a home in Shrewsbury early today is believed to have been started deliberately.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service received 999 calls from people at 2.10am today who feared that the blaze on Shaw Road was a house fire.
Two fire crews from Shrewsbury were quickly on the scene.
They discovered that the fire involved a conifer tree outside property.
It was brought under control by 2.30am.
A fire service spokesman said the fire was believed to be deliberate.
