Pub to reopen after £1 million refurbishment - with 70 jobs up for grabs
A popular riverside pub near Shrewsbury will reopen in July after an investment of more than £1 million.
The newly refurbished Riverside Inn, at Cound, is also looking to hire 70 people as it prepares to relaunches as a Greene King Chef & Brewer country pub.
Greene King say it is "lovingly" restoring the pub’s interior and exterior to complement its new, carefully crafted menu, which will offer a range of signature dishes and hand-picked seasonal specials, alongside cask ales and expertly-paired wines.
The newly appointed general manager, Chris Kendall, has over 12 years of experience managing pubs and is thrilled to be launching his next venture in Shropshire.
He said: “We have used the core essence of the pub to completely reinvent its look and feel with cosy, timeless décor and open fires, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere to simply relax or spend time with friends and family.
Socialise
"As part of the renovation, we have fully refurbished the outside barn to create the beautiful Coach House bar, that will provide an additional peaceful and idyllic place to unwind and socialise all year round.
“With the pub almost ready to open, I am really excited to start building a fantastic team to deliver our ambition and vision for this incredible pub to the local community. We are looking to recruit a team as soon as possible to begin training, ready for a much-anticipated grand reopening in July.
"After a tough year, it is great news for the hospitality industry that we are able to welcome residents to a new pub and offer new employment opportunities in the area. I look forward to welcoming some local faces, along with my team, in the not too far future.”
The pub is looking for team members with experience of all levels, and needs people for front and back of house roles, including chefs, team leaders and assistant managers
