Firefighters called to electricity pylon blaze in Shrewsbury field
Emergency crews have checked an electricity pylon in Shrewsbury after a power surge resulted in a coil falling to the ground.
Repair staff from utility company Western Power and a fire crew went to a field off Monkmoor Road, Monkmoor, shortly before 6.50pm on Monday.
Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service said it had received reports of a power surge and that the flames were out when the crew arrived.
They left the area at 7.03pm.
