One eye-witness from a nearby business said: "All I saw was a lot of smoke and all the staff at APS coming out. Then were heard the fire service, there were a lot of sirens. They were very responsive and it looks like they put it out in record time."

Station manager Craig Jackson said that resin was on fire, so homes and businesses were urged to close their windows. He added that the fire was quickly under control, and praised staff from All Pump Solutions for evacuating the building at pace and providing useful information to firefighters.

"We were notified of a building fire at this address. On arrival there was a lot of smoke coming from the building through the front main door.

"We mobilised five appliances including the aerial ladder platform. Crews got the fire under control and it was contained to the rear of the property. There were no injuries and everyone was evacuated safely.

"I would always urge people to evacuate and alert the fire service as soon as possible.

"We've been working with local businesses to help them get back open because we had to close the road for an hour. I'd like to thank them for their support while the road was closed.

"The staff evacuated quickly and gave us good information."

He also encouraged businesses, if they require fire safety support, to contact the fire service's business protection team.
