Quick thinking driver reacts to car fire in Shrewsbury
A driver sprung into action when a car went caught fire in Shrewsbury.
The alarm was raised just after 2.30pm at the entrance to the Shrewsbury Colleges London Road campus.
A fire crews from the town responded to the 999 call.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire involved a saloon car with overheated front brakes.
A spokesman said: "The driver used a dry powder extinguisher before the arrival of the fire service. Firefighters used a hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera and the fire was under control by 2.50pm."
