Emergency crews at Shrewsbury bridge for more than six hours over concern for woman

Emergency crews were at a bridge in Shrewsbury for more than six hours last night due to concern for a woman.

Firefighters, paramedics and the police were at the English Bridge from around 7.30pm.

Police closed the road and told motorists to find alternative routes while the incident was ongoing.

The woman was left in the care of police and paramedics and the road reopened at around 2am.

A Shropshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said crews were called to the scene at around 7.36pm and left the scene at about 2.08pm.
