Police swoop after reports of illegal street trading in Shrewsbury

A joint police and council operation was launched after reports of illegal street selling in Shrewsbury.

Items of perfume were confiscated in the town centre.

West Mercia Police's Business Crime Team said the council's licensing team responded to calls about illegal street selling in the town centre on Friday.

A spokesperson said: "With help from Shropshire Police, two males were detained and items were seized from them. An investigation will now take place to ID the products."
