Smoke from washing machine sparks Shrewsbury house fire scare
Smoke coming from a washing machine caused a fire alert in Shrewsbury.
Two fire engines and an operations officer dashed to Pool Rise in the county town to reports of a house fire at 10.27am on Sunday (14).
A spokesman for Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service said it was found to be "smoke issuing from a domestic washing machine."
It was found to be out when the crews arrived.
But they removed the washing machine outside of the property before declaring the scare over at 10.43am.
