Hot work for firefighters battling hay fire in Shropshire field
Firefighters were able to stop a hay fire from spreading in a Shropshire field in an operation lasting almost two hours.
A fire crew from Baschurch responded to a 999 call from Knockin Heath near Kinnerley at 12.10pm on Friday.
They found hay alight in the open, and in temperatures reaching the mid 20s used rakes, shovels and mattocks and hose reel jets to get the blaze under control by 1.51pm.
