Cameron Ingham has applied to Shropshire Council to build two detached homes with detached garaging and landscaping on land east of Percy Street North.

Shropshire Council's Highways department has advised the applicant's agent that he cannot use a lane off Ellesmere Road to access the site and the solution would be to build a new tarmac road that joins at the top of Percy Street North.

Stephen Lubell is one of a number of objectors to the plans. He and many of more than 20 objectors say it will "increase the load" on the Victorian streets. A petition has also gathered more than 40 names.

"I am not against housing if it is in the right place," said Mr Lubell. "But you can't build without taking into account the infrastructure.

"We already have people double parking, parking on corners and struggling to find space.

"I think adding more traffic to this area is pushing at the limits of the area.
