Cannabis dealer spared jail after two-year wait for court date
A judge has refused to jail a Shrewsbury cannabis dealer because of the time it took for the case to come before the court.
Dylan Rocke, 28, of Belvedere Lane in Shrewsbury had admitted possessing cannabis with intent to supply the drug after being arrested in Whitchurch Road in the town in July 2021.
Shrewsbury Crown Court was told on Wednesday that he had been stopped on his bicycle by a police constable at around 3.30pm following intelligence he was on his way to a drug deal.
The officer found 56 grammes of cannabis and £220 cash on Rocke, and police later seized a further 141 grammes of the drug following a raid on Rocke's former address in Crowmeole Drive.
