Shrewsbury town centre health shop incident a false alarm after a fire crew spotted
An incident that saw the fire service descend on Shrewsbury town centre was a false alarm.
On Wednesday, at around 5pm, West Mercia Police and a fire engine were on Pride Hill outside health food store Holland & Barrett as crowds gathered.
However, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said the incident was a false alarm caused by an automatic fire alarm system.
A spokesperson for SFRS said the fire crew from Shrewsbury was investigating the cause.
