Shrewsbury's Flaxmill Maltings was officially opened on Friday evening after a multi-million pound restoration project.

Historic England has asked Shropshire Council for permission to put up a signboard outside Shrewsbury’s Flaxmill Maltings.

The sign would advertise offices which are available to let at the site.

Historic England carried out a £20m restoration of the site, which is known as ‘the grandfather of skyscrapers’ for its iron frame.

Meanwhile the council has been asked to consider a proposal to extend a caravan park.

The proposal is for the Wingfield Caravan Park at Montford Bridge.
