Shrewsbury shop allowed shutters to deal with 'huge' anti-social behaviour problem
A shop owner has been given permission to put in security shutters to deal with concerns about anti-social behaviour.
Halon Menswear in Shrewsbury had asked Shropshire Council for permission to add the measures as a response to a “huge” anti-social behaviour problem.
Speaking in August, boss Paul Lord said that the behaviour had included drug taking, people urinating and colleagues being threatened.
He told how one person had "threatened to bite the nose off my colleague".
The application had outlined the concerns, stating: "In the out of hours when the shop is closed this area is being targeted by rough sleepers who leave rubbish and other sanitary waste which is not at all pleasant for the shop owner to clear up.
