Shrewsbury schoolgirl, 10, thanks primary school after being snapped up by Man City
A 10-year-old footballing prodigy has thanked her primary school for supporting her following her rise in junior sport.
Eleni Kyriakou from Shrewsbury is currently appearing on Sports Direct Christmas TV campaign and is signed to Manchester City.
She began her football career at Bayston Hill Juniors when she was just aged five and had to play in the boys team as not enough girls were playing.The young footy ace then joined Shrewsbury Town before being signed to Liverpool FC.
She has since been snapped up by Manchester City, and is currently playing for the team's academy in her second season, but her proud parents say she could not achieve what she has without the support of her new school.
After not received the backing at her former Shrewsbury school, parents Charlotte and Andrew said they enrolled Eleni at Longnor C of E Primary School in Frodesley Road a little over a year ago, and the school have thrown their support behind the youngster's footballing passion.
