Early Christmas Eve call-out as fire service deals with car blaze on A5 layby
The Shropshire fire service was called to an early Christmas Eve incident with a car on fire in a layby on the A5.
The incident took place on the eastbound stretch of the A5, shortly before Junction 7 for Cluddley.
The Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said it had been called to the scene at around 2am, after reports that a car in a layby was on fire.
One crew was sent from Shrewsbury and spent around 40 minutes at the scene.
