It happened at the Weir on Monday evening.

The tanker was visible on Tuesday morning.
The fire service were on the scene.
It's a complex operation to get it out.

A spokesman for Shropshire Council said: "The size of the tanker and location of the collapse mean it's not possible to recover until the morning when it will be assessed by council and Severn Trent engineers."

John Bellis, Shropshire Council's Flood Risk Manager, said: "[Yesterday] we had operatives cleansing the tow path following the river level being up on the tow path here. They were using the jet wash which you've got on the back of the tanker there, cleansing it down to remove the silt. And unfortunately, the back wheels of the tanker have fallen into a sinkhole.
