Find out which Shropshire town has been named as one of the UK's 'most Instagrammable Christmas road trip destinations'

As the festive season draws nearer, many are planning quick getaways with friends or family and are looking to take in new surroundings.

Car insurance broker Tempcover has conducted 'in-depth' analysis to uncover the UK's top 10 most Instagrammable Christmas towns for road trippers. 

The research explored 37 of the UK’s "most magical" Christmas towns, counting general Instagram posts and those tagged with festive cheer. 

The towns were then ranked by total posts, uncovering the ultimate Christmas road trip destinations for a festive getaway.

Although it missed out on top spot and a podium place, Shropshire's county town placed a respectable fourth in their ranking with 871,164 Instagram posts.

Meanwhile, the East-Sussex town of Rye was named the UK’s 'most Instagrammable Christmas road trip destination' with 1.69 million posts, ahead of Whitby and Harrogate with 1.61 million and 1.02 million posts respectively. 

After Shrewsbury in fourth, was Dover with 737,112 posts.
