An air ambulance from Midlands Air Ambulance Charity was sent to the fields at Harlescott Centre and at least one ambulance from West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) was also reported to have also attended the scene.

The nature or extent of any injuries is not yet known, with the emergency services unavailable for comment on weekends.

Meanwhile a flurry of emergency activity was also reported on the other side of the town on Belle Vue Road at around 6pm.

On Sunday an air ambulance was once again sent to the town after a call to a property on Lancaster Road.

WMAS has been contacted for more information.
