Shrewsbury mum worries for daughter's safety after windows 'spontaneously' crack in new build home
A mum fears for her disabled daughter after windows at her two-year-old home 'spontaneously' cracked.
The uPVC double glazed windows at Marie Randall's house at Farr Close, Shrewsbury, have breaks in them after suddenly cracking about three weeks ago, but no sign of a date when they are going to be fixed.
Miss Randall, aged 48, said: "My teenage daughter has severe learning difficulties and she was fascinated as she saw and heard them cracking.
"But she has no understanding of the dangers.
"Though I have been told there is no danger of them shattering, when you run your fingers over the glass you can feel the sharp edge of the crack. I worry that she will be hurt and I think we need to be treated as a priority."
The NHS employee has been told that the windows may have cracked because of stress fractures. She said the house was built in May 2021 and she moved in at the end of September in the same year.
