Delays following crash near Minsterley

A crash has caused delays along a rural road near a Shrewsbury village.

The incident in Hemford, south of Minsterley was caused by a two-vehicle collision, the fire service said.

Four fire engines were despatched to the scene at around 2.30pm, the Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service added.

The crash has caused delays on the A488, according to the AA.

West Mercia Police said two people were injured in the incident, but added the road was not closed following the incident, which it said involved only one vehicle.

A spokesperson said: "Police were called at around 2.30pm this afternoon to a collision on the A488 between Marsh Junction and Gravelbank Junction, involving one vehicle. 

"Two people were treated by the ambulance service for injuries. The fire service were also in attendance. The road was not blocked." 

West Midlands Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
