Ludlow artist holds exhibition in brewery for charity

Stephen Foxx from Ludlow has a number of paintings in the town's brewery, one of which will raise funds for the Midlands Air Ambulance.

The paintings are in the brewery as part of the Ludlow Fringe Art Trail 2018.

Mr Foxx, 67, is part of Ludlow Art Society which puts on the trail yearly.

He said: "As part of the trail there are different artists' work in different places in Ludlow.

"I've done about 12 paintings in the brewery, one of which I'm going to raffle off for Midlands Air Ambulance.

"I do this most years to give something back to charities.

"The aim is to raise as much money as we can for this particular charity as it's such a good charity.

"The brewery has supported the air ambulances for a long time, there will probably be other events in the brewery to raise funds too.

"The Ludlow Brewery has got their own cycling team so I've done three or four abstract paintings of cycling, so I thought it'd be nice for the cyclists to turn up and see the paintings.

"I paint in my own style but you could say it is abstract."

All of the rest of the paintings will be up for sale and will be in Ludlow Brewery until July 2.

A number of artists, including Mr Foxx, will be in Ludlow Square on June 16 - which is also Mr Foxx's birthday - creating art which will then be sold to raise funds for charity.

Ludlow Fringe Art Trail will be held in the town from June 16 to July 1.

Visitors can see the diverse work of local artists, across a host of different venues in Ludlow throughout the festival.

Among the artwork there will be paintings, sculpture, photography, jewellery, printing, and textiles.

There is a map and guide which is available in various places in the town.
