The tea was held on Sunday at Essex Lodge, All Stretton, in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Organiser Sue Toghill said the event raised £2,156 for charity and was well supported.

She said: "We had a couple of hundred people come to the annual event which is held at Caroline and Alan Crump's garden.

"It's a strawberry cream tea held in aid of Cancer Research UK.

"There were a number of stalls, including a cake stall a tombola and a couple of alpacas which was great for everybody.

"We made some money from the alpacas too as people paid to guess the birthday of the one alpaca and paid to find the name of another.

"We raised £2,156 in two hours and have held the event for the last six years.

"That's the most we've ever raised and we were very pleased with that, people just poured in, I think it must've been the weather.

"Everybody enjoyed the event, it was a lovely day."
