Shropshire is going to be battered by bad weather in the coming days as Storm Ali hits the region.

Trees have been blown down across Shropshire - and in Shifnal a trampoline was blown onto the roof of a bungalow.

The wayward trampoline was found on Rodney Close at 11am this morning, and fire crews were sent to track it down.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue urged people with trampolines in gardens to make sure they are secured, ideally with tethers.

The British Ironworks Centre in Oswestry has closed, citing concerns for visitor safety.

Visitors are being escorted from the site and others stopped from entering.

Keith Singleton, health and safety officer for the Ironworks, said: "We take safety very seriously, so reduce risk is the law here."

Train services between Shrewsbury and Wrexham were also affected by a fallen tree.

People across the county have been warned that the already strong winds could become worse in the coming days, and parts of Wales could be hit by heavy rain.

From 6pm tomorrow until 9am on Friday a yellow warning for wind is in place, and another has been issued for Sunday night into Monday morning.

The Met Office has warned that there is a chance of damage to buildings, that there could be delays for those travelling and that power cuts could happen.

Trees have already been falling across the region, with Shropshire Council tweeting warnings to motorists to steer clear.

Further afield, Dudley Zoo, Shugborough Hall near Stafford and Trentham Gardens in north Staffordshire have all closed for the day as a result of the fierce weather.

Trees have come down on roads in Willenhall, Stafford and Great Barr, as well as in gardens, car parks and rail lines across the West Midlands.

Trains between Stourbridge Junction and Stratford Upon Avon are being disrupted due to a tree blocking the line in Dorridge.

It comes after the Met Office issued a yellow wind weather warning earlier this week. The county was hit by high winds on Monday night.
