Cats rescued from property fire near Telford
Two cats were rescued by emergency workers who went to tackle a property fire near Telford.
Specialist animal masks were used to give the pets oxygen treatment following the incident in the dining room of a residence, in Preston upon the Weald Moors, on Friday at about 2.40pm.
Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service said crews from Telford Central and Wellington along with an operations officer attended.
The team used breathing gear and hose jet to tackle the fire and the smoke. They left shortly before 3.20pm.
Other incidents attended by the brigade on Friday included a utility room fire at premises, in Bushmoor, Craven Arms, at about 1.15pm. Crews from the town and Church Stretton put out the flames and smoke. They left the scene at 1.40pm.
Crews were called to put out a chimney blaze a an address, in Church Lane, Bishop's Castle, at 5.45pm. Engines from Bishop's Castle and Clun attended. A specialist camera was used by the firefighters to check over the premises for heat spots before they left shortly after 6.05pm.
