Car rolls onto its roof in B4385 Shropshire crash

A driver and passenger escaped injury after a car rolled onto its roof in south Shropshire.

Emergency services, including the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford, were called to the B4385, near Lydbury North, shortly before 5.30pm on Thursday.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called by the fire service to reports of a car that had been involved in a crash and rolled onto its roof.

"One ambulance attended and the air ambulance landed at a night landing site in Bishop's Castle but was stood down. No injuries were reported."

Three fire crews from Lydbury North and Craven Arms were on scene and freed two people from the car.

Kieran Bodill of West Mercia Police said: ""At approximately 5.05pm yesterday evening, West Mercia Police received a call following a report of a single vehicle collision.

"The incident involved a black Sorento that left the carriageway due to icy conditions and rolled over before coming to a stop the right way up.

"Police, fire, along with land ambulance, attended the scene.

"The driver a man in his 60s and his passenger a woman in her 50s, have reported that there was no injuries.

"This appears to be damage- only incident."
