Firefighters spent three hours bringing the blaze at Little Stretton under control.

Four fire crews - from Church Stretton, Craven Arms, Minsterley and Shrewsbury - were scrambled after the blaze broke out just after 3pm on Friday .

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said the incident involved a fire under a tractor which has then spread to the gorse and undergrowth on the Long Mynd.

About 300 square metres of undergrowth was alight and crews created a barrier to prevent the fire spreading further.

The fire was brought under control just before 6pm.

A fire service spokesperson said a crew would return on Saturday to ensure that there was no sign of the blaze re-igniting.
