Plans for 10 holiday lets in Craven Arms
Farm buildings could be transformed into 10 holiday units if plans are approved.
An application has been submitted to Shropshire Council for the units at Norton Farm, Onibury, where there are already 21 holiday lets.
The two historic, principally single storey, barns are in the south east corner of the site and are more than 50 metres long.
The barns have small clay roof tiles and stone walls with some parts in timber cladding.
The conversion of the barns involves the retention of the existing stone walls, and the replacement of the timber cladding where the existing cannot longer be used.
Part of barn two would be demolished and a connection barn would be constructed between barns one and two.
The plans say: "This new layout will allow all units to enjoy the view of the open country side on the east of the site and creating building cluster."
A total of 12 car parking spaces would be created if the plans are approved.
The proposed conversion would act as an extension to the existing site, taking the overall number of holiday lets to 31.
About 20 metres to the west of the modern barns is former farm workers accommodation, which has recently been modified to provide two new holiday lets accessed through the site of the original holiday lets to the north.
To the east is an access drive serving the eastern side of the site, comprising nine of the holiday lets, an outside games court and infrastructure serving the site.
The plans add: "The proposed conversion would operate as an extension to this existing site and thereby increasing the need and range of communal facilities that will serve to increase the attractiveness of the site the accommodation will be of a high quality and will enhance the role of Shropshire as a tourist destination.
"While the majority of the building is obscured from public viewpoints by the historic barns, this will undoubtedly improve the character and appearance of the building, along with the landscape within which it sits."
The holiday lets are run by Holiday Property Bond, a company which has a property portfolio of nearly 1,400 units spread throughout Europe and beyond.
A decision will be made on the holiday lets by Shropshire Council in the coming months.
