Fire Service brings in specialist vehicle to fight chimney blaze
An aerial ladder platform had to be used by firefighters to tackle a chimney fire on a three storey building near Ludlow.
The alarm was raised just after 9pm on Thursday (15) with three fire crews from Minsterley and Shrewsbury called out to tackle the blaze at Whitton.
The fire crews fought the fire from outside with the aerial ladder platform and from inside the house.
Once under control the firefighters then used a thermal imaging camera to ensure there were no hotspots that could re-ignite within the chimney.
