Organisers Hands Together Ludlow said the poster exhibition at Ludlow Assembly Rooms was also aimed at showing people wishing to volunteer what opportunities were available in the town.

Teresa Bailey, volunteer coordinator for Hands Together Ludlow, said: "Through funding from UKSPF we were able to produce A1 posters and partner with Ludlow Assembly Rooms to create the exhibition. We know there’s lots of volunteering happening in Ludlow, we have over 100 volunteers just at Hands Together, and we wanted to find out about other activity and celebrate all their work and the organisations they engage with. It’s incredible what all these people bring to the town and the opportunities to give back, meet new people and develop skills the organisations provide. We hope we can inspire others to give their time."

The exhibition was opened by the town's mayor, Councillor Beverley Wait.

She said: “It was my great pleasure to open the Hands Together Ludlow Poster Exhibition and to have the opportunity to highlight a vital force that shapes our town, enriches our lives and strengthens the fabric of our society the power of volunteers.

“In every corner of our community, volunteers are the unsung heroes who dedicate their time, skills, and passion to make a difference. Their efforts are not just commendable; they are essential. Volunteers bring life to every aspect of our community.

“They help bring warmth and support to those who need it. They care for the environment, they show acts of kindness and compassion. To everyone and everything that needs someone

“Each hour they invest is a testament to their commitment to building a better and stronger community.

“The benefits of volunteering extend far beyond the immediate impact. Research has shown that volunteering fosters social connections, enhances mental well-being and cultivates a sense of belonging.

“When we volunteer we not only uplift others but we also enrich our own lives. We learn new skills, meet diverse people and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by our neighbours.”

The exhibition is on until January 13.
