Football team's coach catches fire en-route to Hednesford game
A football coach burst into flames as it travelled down to Hednesford.
Marine Football Club were heading from Liverpool down to Hednesford for an Evo-Stik Northern Premier League game.
But as the Merseyside club's coach pulled into Hednesford, it caught fire and had to be evacuated.
No one was hurt and the side still made it to Keys Park for the game – which they went on to lose 3-2.
Firefighters were called to Hill Street, near to the junction with Sharon way, after the fire broke out around 1pm yesterday.
Two crews from Cannock and one from Rugeley attended, with firefighters using breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.
Staffordshire Police and a highways team were also in attendance.
The last crew left the scene at 3.30pm.
