Motorcyclist, 24, dies after crash with car on A5 in Shropshire
A 24-year-old motorcyclist has died after a crash on a main road on the Shropshire border.
The accident, involving a blue Suzuki motorbike and a silver Renault Megane, happened on the A5, between Weston-under-Lizard and Crackleybank, near to the junction with the A41.
Two ambulances, a paramedic area support officer, a community first responder, and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the crash, which happened shortly after 5.20pm on Monday..
Staffordshire Police have confirmed that the man killed in the crash was a 24-year-old from the Norton Canes area.
Jamie Arrowsmith of West Midlands Ambulance Service said that despite the efforts of medical staff the motorcyclist died at the scene.
He said: “On arrival at the scene, crews discovered the motorcyclist, a man, in cardiac arrest. Ambulance staff immediately began administering CPR and advanced life support.
“However, unfortunately it became apparent that nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.
“The driver of the car was uninjured in the accident.”

Dave Bradbury from Staffordshire Police said that both vehicles were understood to be travelling in the direction of Weston-under-Lizard.
Police say that specialist officers are supporting the family of the biker.
Officers from the collision investigation unit are appealing for witnesses to the crash, or anyone who may have seen the vehicles beforehand.
