Telford hospital workers get free ice creams
An ice cream man gave out almost 700 free ice creams to workers at a hospital.
Mr Tee, based in Wrexham, has become a social media sensation with his ice cream creations, attracting huge queues when he appears at venues across Shropshire.
Those behind the business contacted bosses at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust, offering to do a ‘community payback’ giving out free sundaes and cones to staff working.
And on Tuesday, he visited the Princess Royal Hospital, where hundreds of workers took up the opportunity.
Tee Smith, 38, is originally from Bolton and set up the company.
He says he believes they gave out a total of 600 sundaes and 99 cones.
Tee added: “We had the idea as it is ongoing through the communities we visit, we always do forms of community payback and this one of them
“We often have campaigns where we visit residential nursing homes and disability centres too
“As of starting to visit Telford once a week since our operations began about a year ago we have amassed a huge following there and felt that we needed to repay the community that has shown us so much love and respect
“I think this activity achieved the required result. It was an amazing feeling seeing so many happy staff and patients at the hospital
“Absolutely priceless.”
