Police, ambulance services and two fire engines attended after the accident on a roundabout by Forgegate near the town centre, receiving a call at about 5.40pm.
Two people were cut free by officers, while another person was able to leave their car before emergency services arrived.
Two lanes of the roundabout were closed by police before the road was cleared, with Highways England officers clearing the road of oil.
